ASF Jerusalem Symposium

This is an annual event in Jerusalem to bring together North American student leaders from high school, gap-year, study abroad, and post-graduate programs in Israel to hear from distinguished scholars, thinkers, and activists in Israeli society. The symposium explores topics relevant to Israel and world Jewry and empower participants to return to their campuses and communities in North America having developed skills and knowledge about issues such as Israel education, contemporary Jewish identity, Zionism, and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
The inaugural symposium in 2011, “Re-imagining Israel on the North American College Campus,” focused on the need to change Israel advocacy and create innovative techniques for promoting Israel on campus and drew over 200 participants.The 2012 symposium was attended by over 300 and explored “The Z-Word: Re-imagining Zionism.” In February 2013, 300 participants had a conversation around "The Meaning and Purpose of Israel as a Jewish State."
